Shipping Strategies

No matter what shipper system I am using, shipping packages has always been something that I never feel settled with.  Maybe it’s just me, I personally hate to pay shipping and I feel like the shipping charges reflect upon my item’s prices and make my items appear to be too expensive.

Up until Tuesday when I had a business coaching session with Kelly McCausey, I was fretting about the shipping prices that some of my customers are paying for my pillows.  I have ALWAYS only charged the customers the actual shipping cost that I pay and I refund the difference if my shopping cart calculates higher or if I am able to fit it into a flat rate box and save the customer money.

Kelly says this is great, but my item prices are not high and shipping is what it is and people who shop online know they have to pay shipping and that I need to just get over it.

Okay,  I will but I have put of  thought into adding some additional shipping options for my customers to choose from since my discussion with Kelly.   It’s like I am laying it all out which defies my desire for simplicity, but maybe this is what I need to do to “embrace” my system.

Kelly also suggested I only ship 2 days per week instead of shipping orders the minute they pop in, which by the way is very hard for me not to do since I take pride in speedy shipping, but I can see this working and the customers will still get their orders quick.

I will continue to refund shipping differences of $2 or more to the customer if the cost was over calculated.

The following is my new shipping policy that can be found the website:

We take pride in our shipping methods.  We always do whatever we can to charge actual shipping costs to the customer and when we can we will refund the difference to the customer if we over estimated the cost.

USPS Priority Mail is the preferred shipper for our products, but we have just recently added UPS as an additional shipping option because it may be less expensive for some shipping zones.

Most orders are calculated by weight, but we also have a USPS flat rate box option that you can choose at check out because it might be less expensive for some zones.

The flat rate box will not hold more than 2 gift box sets, but it will hold 2-3 neckwraps, or several eye pillows, or a combination of one boxed set with a couple of neckwraps, desk sets or small pillows.   Please do not choose this option if you have a large order that cannot possibly fit in the flat rate box, your order will not ship until proper shipping charges are paid.

If you would like an exact shipping quote for your order please click here to enter your items and postal code and you will receive an invoice to pay for your order via email.

Although we offer the items in beautiful gift ready packaging, we strive to be earth friendly and use recycled or resuable packaging whenever we can.

We ship orders on Mondays and Thursdays with exception to holidays.

If you order on: it will ship on:
Monday Thursday
Tuesday Thursday
Wednesday Thursday
